The Department of Urban and Regional Planning held a Practitioner Lecture for the courses MKP MBR Property and MKP Property Management on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The guest speaker for this lecture was Ir. Jaka Wahyana, SE, Director of the Property Learning Center, Housing Developer Education and Training Program at the Central Java Provincial Chapter of DPD Himpera. The theme of the event was “The Role of Real Estate in Urban Development Innovation”. Through this event, students were expected to gain an understanding the role of real estate from the direct perspective of property developers as experts, professionals, and practitioners.

During the discussion session, the speaker and the students discussed global megatrends, strategic issues in urban development, real estate development within the concepts of smart cities and sustainable development, as well as the practical integration of theory with urban and regional planning practices. Ir. Jaka Wahyana stated, “The megatrends in Indonesia by 2045 include increasing urbanization, population migration, and the growth of the elderly population. This phenomenon underscores the need for innovation in urban development to create an environment that is sustainable, inclusive, and adaptable to changing community needs.”

The lecture was led by Dr.-Ing. Asnawi, ST, as the Course Coordinator for the MBR Property and Property Management courses. Closing the session, Dr.-Ing. Asnawi stated, “We hope this activity will enhance students understanding of real estate development in urban planning. Thank you to Mr. Jaka Wahyana, for sharing his knowledge and experience with the students of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DPWK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), UNDIP.” The participants appeared very enthusiastic throughout the session until its conclusion. The final session concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift from DPWK FT UNDIP to Ir. Jaka Wahyana, followed by a group photo session.
